Seattle duo BL3R recently took home the gold in Gareth Emery’s remix contest for his record ‘Eye Of The Storm’ hosted on Beatport. Although countless producers enter these contests and the chances of winning are bleak, big names such as Zedd and Seven Lions have originally emerged from these contests. Pairing Gavin Beach’s vocals, which are wrought with intense emotion, with the breakbeat drums and euphoric leads of BL3R’s signature touch, the spin on the original is able to keep the same cutting energy alive, but in a fresh light. Gareth Emery will be releasing three other entries from the contest, given the abundance of excellent submissions. Keep your eye on BL3R for future releases as we will most likely be seeing more big tunes from the duo.
