Counterpoint Music And Arts Festival Releases Set Times

Counterpoint was the reincarnation of the 2007 Echo Project in Georgia and made a successful debut in 2012. But, in 2013, Dutch event company ID&T announced the debut of TomorrowWorld in September (around the same time as Counterpoint the year previous) at the same festival site along the Chattahoochee River. Leading up to TomorrowWorld, Counterpoint’s future and whether it would remain in Georgia circulated around the rumor mill. But, all rumors came to rest when Counterpoint threw one hell of a party at “The Gathering” for the Dreamville campers on the Thursday night of TomorrowWorld and passed out flyers promoting their return in April of 2014.

Now, the 2014 festival season is in full swing, and Counterpoint Music and Arts Festival is up to bat next weekend at the brand new 5,000 acre site in Kingston Downs, Georgia. Counterpoint returns with a diverse lineup boasting headliners such as Above and Beyond, Major Lazer, and the highly anticipated homecoming of Outkast. The likes of Thundercat, Tourist, and XXYYXX will be the few among many artists representing for the underground, and Southeastern mainstays such as Papadosio and Pretty Lights will be rocking, as well. There will also be a plethora of activities to enjoy such as yoga, hooping lessons, gaming, and carnival games/rides. Scratch DJ Academy will also be present providing workshops and hands on lessons to anyone interested in learning the craft.

With all bases covered from music to new super-sized site to a variety of activities, Counterpoint will definitely be an immersive full circle experience for all those attending the second edition.
