Last night, Buenos Aires was treated to a one-of-a-kind experience at the A State of Trance event at Ciudad del Rock. When Aly & Fila couldn’t make their set due to travel issues, all seven other DJs associated with the event performed in their stead at the very same time, yes a b2b2b2b2b2b2b. The entire lineup of the event, Ruben de Ronde, Chris Schweizer, Heatbeat, Tomas Heredia, Orjan Nilsen, Dash Berlin & Armin himself hung out on stage, playing their favorite tracks and mixing into each other’s awesomeness.
I’m kind of stunned we’re able to bring the set to you in its entirety, but Armin has ensured that each of the ASOT650 performances were both live-streamed and up as quickly as humanly possible after the event completed. This is a mammoth undertaking, and it’s been executed flawlessly so far. When you’re turning around multiple 10hr videos, it speaks volumes about Armin’s business savvy and deep understanding of the medium. There’s already a thank you message up on his website, and you’re able to watch it all & just this b7b in HD, as if you were there. It’s a good time to be alive. Trance is going to explode even more in 2014, and I can’t wait for not only the freeform b2b sets but the “Let’s transcode & upload everything night of!” trends to become standard practice for the industry.
