First breaking into the more recognized electronic scene when she provided the vocals for Skrillex’s famous track ‘All I Ask of You’ under just the name Penny, Pennybirdrabbit has spent these last three years steadily releasing a consistent string of EPs. First was the ‘Treehouse EP,’ and then came ‘Safer EP,’ over which a clear progression of Pennybirdrabbit’s sound is almost tangible. This progression leads us to the release of her most recent Ep titled ‘For Love ‘ EP.
‘For Love,’ released off of the OWSLA label, offers a much more organic sound compared to Pennybirdrabbit’s earlier songs. The laid-back drums, organ chords, and mellow vocals give the EP a much more acoustic vibe where as her older work is more heavily influenced by electronic music. The subtle yet intriguing diversity in the tempos and moods between each song allows you to have this five track EP on repeat for hours without even realizing it.
