Hardwell on EDM: “A bit sick of what’s going on” and wants to “push the boundaries” with new album

When the ASOT650 tour settled down in the Netherlands the other night, Armin Van Buuren sat down with Hardwell for an impromptu interview. The #1 DJ took the opportunity to discuss his new album and his disdain for the state of EDM as it stands, saying that he was “a bit sick of what’s going on in EDM right now” and that he wanted to “push the boundaries” of music with his new album. Hardwell and Cosmic Gate joked that whenever he isn’t touring he is working on his album, and he confirmed that he had taken a month off from touring in order to work on the new album. This will be Hardwell’s debut album and fans around the world are already buzzing to see what the world’s #1 DJ can produce. What fans can expect are some trance elements to compliment the already established Hardwell sound. You can catch the whole interview at the 3:48:00 mark, but feel free to enjoy some trance samplings if you can’t precisely fast forward.
