Kaskade Weighs In On Current State of Dance Music At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards

The Grammy’s have always been about showcasing the mainstream genres of music, leaving little room for genres such as dance music. In recent years, things have started to change as dance music  gains popularity in the eyes of the mainstream. At this year’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards, many beloved electronic artists received Grammy nominations and recognition in honor of dance music. No stranger to Grammy nominations, Kaskade received two nominations with one for Best Dance Recording and one for Best Dance Album. A few reporters caught up with him on the red carpet for an interview, where Kaskade enthusiastically expressed how far dance music has come and how it is “front and center” now as compared to a few years ago.

On top of the status of dance music, Kaskade spoke about the camaraderie of artists in the dance music world. In other words, a win at the Grammys for any dance artist is a win for the whole community. The competition was stiff in the Dance Music categories and unfortunately Kaskade didn’t walk away with any Grammys this year, but he should have received a Grammy for his stellar suit jacket by Dsquared. Kaskade certainly stole the show with his dapper look, complete with his signature fashion: no socks!
