Diplo may have been one of the busiest artists of 2013, but he still found time to record a hit-filled end-of-the-year mix for his popular show ‘Diplo and Friends’ on BBC Radio 1. Over the past year, Thomas Wesley Pentz has released a solo EP, a full-length album with his dancehall act Major Lazer, and even formed a massive side project with Skrillex. That may sound like a lot, but that’s not even including his work as the chief of Mad Decent. His label had a monster year that was highlighted by the release of Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” and the Mad Decent Block Party, which was a can’t-miss show over the summer.
This mix completely breaks genre barriers, as it features artists from all over the music industry. Whether you’re a fan of Kanye West, Disclosure, Macklemore or Mat Zo, listeners are bound to find something that appeals to them.
