Zedd Talks about His Inspirations, Career and Upcoming Album

Zedd Beatport

It is always an honor to hear great artists, such as Zedd, talk about their inspirations, the efforts they put in to make it to where they are today, what’s going on in their hectic schedules, and their advice and tips for up-and-coming musicians. Beatport, which provided the platform to kick-start the Russian-German’s career when he won two remix contests for the original tracks from Armand Van Helden and Fatboy Slim, managed to catch up with the busy young star and fittingly did an exclusive interview with Zedd. Topics touched on includes, among other things, Zedd’s early inspirations in electronic music from Daft Punk and Justice, how the Beatport remix contest made his name heard, his rising popularity in America thanks to help from Skrillex and Deadmau5 bringing him on tour, the preference to play concert/theater halls versus clubs, current work on Lady Gaga’s album, and much to the delight and anticipation of his fans, an upcoming album that will offer much diversity in terms of music genres/styles as opposed to the typical 128-bpms. You can check out this comprehensive interview in the eight and a half minute video below.
