Less than 24 hours after the well known Skrillex and extremely talented Alvin Risk released their music video for the reworked song “Try It Out (Neon Mix)”, they give us a two for one special by releasing another rework of their dub masterpiece; donning this one as the “TRY HARDER” mix! If you can say the first half of the Neon mix to “Try It Out” takes a somewhat (key word being “somewhat”) softer more melodic approach to the original mix, you can say the Try Harder rework takes on a considerably more aggressive, direct and “let’s RAGE” characteristic overall. The song starts with the same extremely well manipulated vocal samples as the Neon mix and builds into an initial drop identical to the original track for the first half of the section. But at about 16 measures in (~30 seconds after the drop) the Try Harder mix undoubtedly begins to take on its own unique feel and face. All in all, I say the best way to describe the three individual tracks is “the same great flavor of ice cream with three different choices of toppings”, my personal preference being the Try Harder mix.
