Matisse & Sadko put their signature progressive style on this already catchy alternative song “Neon Eyes” by Saints of Valory, signed under Atlantic Records. Strong vocals, acoustic guitar, and harmonizing synths that buildup into the lead melody…I’m chalking this one up as a win. Big Beat, Atlantic’s EDM sub-label, has been quite active recently in meshing dance music with other genres (Icona Pop’s single “All Night”) and so far it has paid off. Should we expect more of this from Big Beat and other EDM labels? Yes. With a plethora of EDM genres and artists frequently blending them together, it is only due time until the iTunes Top 40 has more electronic influence.
