Kissy Sell Out Takes Control of Avalon Hollywood

British house and garage is blowing up stateside… Think Disclosure, Breach and AlunaGeorge. If you’re into groovy garage and aren’t already familiar with Kissy Sell Out, it’s time to get acquainted. Kissy Sell Out (real name: Thomas Bisdee) played a set at Avalon Hollywood last Friday and it was the perfect prequel to his San City High EP, which is out today on San City High Records. Mixing on four-decks, Kissy skillfully blended old school samples (Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It,” Daniel Bedingfield’s “Gotta Get Thru This,” etc.) with his style of British deep house.

From 2007 to 2012, the East London-based DJ and producer hosted a wildly popular BBC Radio 1 show called Kissy Klub–his unofficial remixes known as “Kissy Klub Versions” were huge hits with his fans. On stage on Friday, Kissy Sell Out’s presence was smooth, comfortable and sophisticated. His productions cross genres seamlessly and the depth of his experience as a DJ and producer is undeniable.

The San City High EP features tracks with Brookson, TrumpDisco and DrDr and is available today on Beatport. You can check out more of his music on his Soundcloud or subscribe to his current podcast on iTunes. Check out Kissy Sell Out at one of his upcoming shows on his North American tour and keep an eye out for more dates as they’re announced.
