Hardwell Crowned as Youngest DJ to Win DJ Mag Top 100

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two days, DJ Mag has released the results for its annual competition to find out the world’s top 100 DJs. Hardwell came in as #1, which is huge for the 25-year old DJ. In 2011 he entered the competition at 24th then took 6th the following year in 2012.

But the biggest accomplishment here is that he is also the youngest DJ ever to earn the prestigious title of ‘World #1 DJ’ in the Top 100 DJ Poll. From headlining major festivals all over the world over the past year and releasing six consecutive number one singles on Beatport, this really was Hardwell’s year.

In his response to his winning title, Hardwell said:

Wow, I’ve spent all my life dreaming of winning this award and now it has finally happened I’m completely speechless. I have so many people I’d like to thank but none more so than the fans. They have been incredible; their support at my shows and with my music has been out of this world. You really are the best fans in the world. The commitment and effort the fans put into the shows with their signs and energy on the dancefloor is incredible. I’ll never be able to thank them enough.

He started out at age 14 in the city of Breda in the Netherlands, and since has been shattering records as a hobby. His most notable performance was his Ultra 2013 set and that video has brought in 6 million views in just 8 weeks and broke all records for the most watched Ultra live broadcast during UMF with over 80,000 people watching his set online.

According to DJ Mag, this year’s poll smashed all previous records with music fans from across the globe in over 170 countries casting more than 750,000 votes, cementing the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll as the definitive list for the international dance scene.

Hardwell, from our team to you, CONGRATULATIONS!
