Ask any EDM fan what artist had the most exciting EP of 2013 so far and you’ll repeatedly hear the name “Oliver”. Their debut Fool’s Gold EP released this January, was a four track showcase of some of the funkiest, toughest, most soulful and diverse electronic music today. Each track on the EP is perfect in their own right, but heavy hitters Values, Tchami, Nom De Strip, and Dillon Francis have managed to compliment Olivers unique brand of disco/electro house with each remix.
Each remix carries it’s own distinct style and atmosphere, Dillon Francis remix of “Night Is On My Mind,” maintains the moody strut of of the originals baseline, while speeding the tempo up and adding drops that mould it into a peak time electro house cut. but the most appealing is the Values remix; it still retains the nostalgic emotion of the “Mechanical” single but adds an innovative pop-electro texture to the original.
