Krewella to Work with Members of Fall Out Boy & Blink 182 on Forthcoming Album

In a recent interview with “Las Vegas Weekly,” Krewella’s Yasmine Yousaf offered her story of the incredible musical journey that has brought her to where she is today. Yasmine did not grow up listening to anything even close to EDM. Rock was her thing, She loved bands such as Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Green Day, and Fall Out Boy. As a young teen, Yasmine then became a member of an indie rock band and possessed a Death Cab Cutie and Modest Mouse obsession. Although Krewella offers a high octane style under an entirely different genre of music, Yasmine wants you to know that every part of that path she followed contributed to the style of group they are today. Something she prides herself and her group members on is always keeping the crowd involved and never “getting lost in the dj booth.” After all her hard work, Yasmine will receive the ultimate reward in her eyes in the form of an opportunity to release a track with Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy and Travis Barker of Blink-182 on Krewella’s upcoming album.

I’m not really supposed to talk about this, but whatever—that’s a collaboration with Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy and Travis Barker from Blink-182. It’s the three of us together on one song, and it’s like the culmination of my adolescent years, the coolest thing that’s every happened to me. When we were in the studio with Patrick Stump writing this song, it was one of those moments when I realized there’s no other type of music I’d rather be making. … I don’t even know how to place us anymore. But that’s I guess a good thing. You don’t cater to one kind of fan. You cater to the people who never lost that love for pop-punk when they were 12, as much as anyone else.
