Former Barcelona Bullring To Host Nic Fanciulli, Steve Lawler & More

Barcelona Plaza de Toros
Until recently, the electronic music scene has typically been known for holding events in industrial locations such as underground nightclubs and abandoned warehouses. In general, an event’s venue is oftentimes the least important thing because as long as you were with friends and listening to good music, everything else wasn’t seen as a priority. Over time, that mentality has slowly shifted to the point that promoters are now often pushing for more picturesque locales, as is the case for Spanish promoters Creaductions. They’ll be repurposing Plaza de Toros Monumental, the last arena to hold bullfighting events in Barcelona, for a crazy week of techno.

That’s right – it’s a ex-bullfighting ring. From Thursday, June 14 to Sunday, June 17, the arena, known by locals as Monumental, will be hosting a series of DJs as part of the annual OFF Week. Kerri Chandler, Sasha & Digweed, Theo Parrish, Nic Fanciulli and Steve Lawler are just some of the artists who will be present. Creaductions will be joined by promoters ANTS and Dimensions to make all this possible.

With these parties, the list of eccentric spots chosen for electronic music gatherings continues to increase. During 2017, even the Eiffel Tower has been conquered by techno, when danish DJ/Producer Kölsch played an exclusive set from the heights of the City of Lights.

So now, it’s time to book your flights to Barcelona. Get ready to live a multisensorial experience at this incredible venue, and Olé!
