Marshmello And Selena Gomez Drop Intimate ‘Wolves’ Music Video

Marshmello and Selena Gomez fans, rejoice! The duo has released a music video for their new collaboration, ‘Wolves’. With the entire video being filmed in one take over iMessage and FaceTime, it makes for an interesting and unique concept for a music video.

After exchanging a few texts, Selena FaceTimes Marshmello and says, “I cannot stop thinking about our song—can you just play it, like really quick?” From that point on, the music plays while Selena lipsynchs to it and gives a tour of her home while Marshmello nods along.

On one hand, it’s exceedingly simple and low-budget—perhaps like the track’s questionable cover artwork—but at the same time, its originality and sheer intimacy makes for a captivating watch. Despite its contrived nature, it gives the sense of a glimpse into the personal lives of the two superstars. It’s easy to forget you’re watching a music video, as it feels like you’re in the middle of an actual FaceTime call between the two of them.

Marshmello recently received his first platinum single with ‘Alone’, and it’s possible ‘Wolves’ may achieve the same feat. Selena Gomez has had a busy year with single releases, having previously released a hit EDM collaboration with Kygo, ‘It Ain’t Me’, which peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
