Fan Made Video Revives Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 Concert

Daft Punk. How could anyone not know their name?! They’re known as one of dance music’s most successful acts and the duo reached a huge milestone in 2007 when they recorded their Alive 2007 album Live at the Palais omnisports de Paris-Bercy Arena in Paris. To allow fans to relive this epic moment reddit user xerofoxx created a fan made video.

Now visually the quality of the video is nowhere near high-definition. From the quality you can tell it is a fan made project, but this raw footage adds an artistic touch to the video. There isn’t a large amount of professional video footage of the concert, so this is as close as we can get to reliving the show. In addition, xerofoxx’s Alive 2007 video captures the entire show, from beginning to end.

Another interesting thing to note is this show took place before the very first iPhone was made. The very first smartphones didn’t have great cameras, so imagine what phone video quality was like before the game changing technology came out. This video is a perfect example of what pre-smartphone video recordings were like, but it still manages to impress.

The visuals of the show were epic and groundbreaking for 2007, and all of this is shown in the video. This can be attributed to the reddit user continuously updating, improving, and polishing the video with new clips. He has even gone as far using correctional techniques to improve clarity, enhance color, and maximize contrast. Included in his post is a statement saying that his Alive 2007 Concert Video is never going to be finished, with continuous clip submissions accepted to improve the video.

Alive 2007 went on to win a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2009. Its single ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ went on to win a Grammy for Best Dance Recording the same year. While the audio recording is amazing, we suggest you take a look at the visual version of the legendary album above.
