Eric Prydz Discusses His Music And His Residency At Hi Ibiza

To be honest there is nothing much left to say about the progressive phenomenon known as Eric Prydz. From his latest single ‘Accuser’ to his old school underground mixes like the Pryda remix of ‘On Off‘, Prydz has already established his legacy. In a recent interview with DJ Mag, he talks about his upcoming projects and his relatively late maiden residency at Hi Ibiza.

When asked about his first Ibiza experience, Eric states how overwhelming it was for him to meet, see and play alongside his idols like Pete Tong and Roger Sanchez upon his first trip to the island. He came down in 2004 on a train from Stockholm as he fears flying. He says,

“I think the reason we’ve gone all-in this year is because of the Hi nightclub. You know, we’re able to bring in everything ourselves and be in control of the design and the production — we couldn’t turn it down, it’s an amazing opportunity.”

which is a huge compliment for Hi Ibiza for keeping a clean slate for the artists to showcase their music’s soul. Eric admits he juggles with all his aliases and labels while playing at the epic shows at Hi. He also discusses about how involved he is in structuring his shows’ line-up and how the island inspires him to make more music : “I have stages where I’m making, say, five tracks a week…” Eric then mentions that his so called labels are just his extensions of varied tastes and interests. Finally, when asked about his new label Pryda Presents, he talks about signing Cristoph to his new label and how much talent he has got.

The interview was a door opener for the fans as we always want to know the real man we all idolise.
