The “What Would Diplo Do” Trailer is Here

Just ‘cus there’s no “I” in team doesn’t mean there’s no “I” in Diplo!

James van der Beek and Diplo’s anticipated miniseries on Viceland now has a new trailer out on Youtube. Since the “Day in the Life” video came out last year to promote Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party, the miniseries has been teased quite a bit.

Beginning on August 3rd, the miniseries will hit Viceland for all to see and will have James van der Beek playing Diplo. In what seems to be a hilarious fictional adaptation of Diplo’s wild life, Diplo co-produces along-side van der Beek. This should be an interesting (and hilarious) six episode ride.

Diplo has always done a great job of expanding and marketing his image and brand. He has created his own unique sound, started up his well-known Mad Decent label, and now is about to come out with his own mini-series. He continues to prove that he is a master at innovating himself through different avenues allowing him to become so popular.

The trailer shows “Diplo” DJing, screaming to his team that “we need new sounds!”, and running nude down a hallway. There’s even a cameo by one of Diplo’s buddies, Dillon Francis. Clearly this show aims to be as funny as possible. But as told by James van der Beek to Deadline, “the show doesn’t take itself too serious but it’s not cynical”. Good thing seeing as Diplo is one of the producers.

The six episode mini-series is set to on Viceland at 10 p.m on August 3rd but everyone can check out the hilarious trailer above.
