Steve Angello Producing Documentary ‘The Last Free Space’

Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia fame has been diving into other areas of artistic expression since the breakup of the supergroup in 2013, particularly in the realm of filmmaking. He released his debut solo album ‘Wild Youth‘ in 2016, accompanied by several music videos designed to be watched in unison to tell a cohesive story representative of the many stages of his life. Now, Angello has announced his latest film venture as the Executive Producer of a new documentary called ‘The Last Free Space.’

‘The Last Free Space’ will tell the story of a community of people living in Slab City, California. The community is made up of both people that were forced into an impoverished lifestyle, and others who have chosen Slab City as their home as a means of avoiding 21st century civilization. ‘The Last Free Space’ will tell the story of how Slab City came to be, how it became inhabited, and why some in the first world would willingly choose this third world way of life.

It’s wonderful to see our favorite musicians exploring other passions, and Steve Angello has done just that since he resumed his solo music career. You can check out the trailer for his new documentary below, as well as his eloquently written description of the film. No release date has been announced yet, but we’ll certainly be on the lookout for further announcements.
