Joseph Capriati – BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

Joseph Capriati can definitively be considered one of the premier names in techno. Since his debut 10 years ago, Capriati has been building a catalog of impressive releases, and has gained worldwide recognition for his impressive performances. According to Capriati, his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix debut is his artistic statement of intent for this busy upcoming summer.

As to be expected, the mix is flawless, hypnotic, and is a true ode to Capriati’s talent as a dj, selector, and producer. Over the course of the two hour mix, it builds flawlessly and gains serious intensity as the minutes flow by. At points it is hard to tell where Capriati is even bringing in a new song, because the transitions have been performed so harmoniously. On top of that, Capriati has included several of his new and unreleased songs, which are impressive to say the least.

This mix stays true to Capriati’s sound, but also showcases his evolution as an artist. Capriati has taken his Essential Mix debut very seriously, and has gotten us all very excited for his upcoming performances and releases.
