Royal Swedish Army Covers ‘Don’t You Worry Child’

swedish armyIt’s been nearly five years since Swedish House Mafia released ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, and it is still proving to be an iconic track in the world of dance music. Even more interestingly, it is just as well known and respected by the Royal Swedish Army.

Every year the Swedish Army marching band puts on a performance for King Carl Gustaf XVI’s birthday. Last year they paid an ode to disco with a cover of ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba, but this year they wanted to keep it local. With the brass instruments covering the vocals and an undulating marching drum providing the bass line, it was an uplifting and impressive performance enjoyed by all in attendance. You can watch the full video of the Arméns MusikkÃ¥rs Figpremiär show below, with the song starting at 6:30. Mafia versus Army, who do you think did it best?
