Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past 24 hours, you’re probably aware of the disaster that is the Fyre Festival, a once-intended luxury party in Exumas, The Bahamas. The event, put on by Ja Rule‘s company Fyre, has turned into one of the biggest shitshows of a festival we’ve seen in a long time.

After hours of leaving individuals who intended to attend the festival stranded on the island, Ja Rule released the following statement this afternoon:

This ultimately continues to leave us to question the lack of capabilities and communications among the festival’s planners, as the artist refuses to admit that this is his fault but he is still willing to take responsibility for it. Something, it seems, is a little off here.

The @VisitTheBahamas account on Twitter, which calls itself the “Official Twitter account for The Islands Of The Bahamas”, also posted this statement today:

Based on these statements and the general silence from Fyre Festival on social media, it’s safe to say that there are many questions to be answered around why this event fell apart.
