Glastonbury Will Change Its Name For 2019 Event

Glastonbury, the well-known UK music festival, is in for a change in the coming years. Founder Michael Eavis has confirmed that the event will change its name in 2019 when it temporarily moves to a new location.

He also revealed that the festival’s new name will be “The Variety Bazaar”. Eavis explained that the move was to protect the festivals old location site from “erosion”. After last year’s event, there was speculation around the festival moving locations due to the constant beating the location was taking every year, and organizers were forced to brainstorm new ideas for the festival to keep it running.

Eavis’ daughter, Emily Eavis, discussed the news via Twitter today, in which she stated that The Variety Bazaar will remain a separate entity from Glastonbury.

As for this year, the fest is confirmed for June 21st to June 25th, 2017 with Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran headlining.
