The electronic music community was treated to some real gems over the last twelve months. Despite the fact that original mixes tend to receive a bulk of the attention, 2016 should also be remembered for its fantastic remixes from a wide variety of genres. Artists like NGHTMRE, Above & Beyond, Illenium and SNBRN presented us with some excellent works, but there’s no denying that they have some pretty stiff competition.
In order to determine our ‘Top 15 Remixes of 2016’, EDMTunes’ editors created a Facebook poll and asked our staff to select their 10 favorite remixes of the year. We also requested that people take both quality and popularity into consideration when voting to ensure that the list isn’t “too obscure” or “too mainstream”. Since this is a poll of our staff, we understand that the list isn’t going to please everyone. That being said, we feel that it’s a great representation of the EDMTunes family. It’s also worth noting that ties were broken by the number of editors who voted for a song.
