Haitian DJ and producer Michael Brun has released a powerful new remix of New York singer/songwriter Ben Alessi’s debut single ‘U’. Brun gives the track an EDM makeover, building on the strong melodies and vocals displayed by Alessi on the original track. Brun has pitched down the vocals and added a Caribbean dance vibe to the song. Check out the remix below:
The original track is Ben Alessi’s debut single, premiered on Billboard, and will appear on his forthcoming EP coming out in early 2017.
Brun’s remix of ‘U’ is the latest in a series of successful releases from Michael Brun this year. This summer, he contributed one of the lead singles for the Netflix Original film, XOXO, “All I Ever Wanted”. He also released “Wherever I Go” in collaboration with students from the Haiti Audio Institute, a music school in Haiti that Brun also held a fundraising concert for in June. 2017 certainly seems poised to be another big year for one of the Caribbean’s most exciting young producers.
