Deadmau5 Gets BBC Radio 1 Residency in 2017

We’ve become quite spoiled when it comes to dance music podcasts and radio shows. We now live in an age where Eric Prydz and deadmau5 got a bi-weekly radio show thanks to Apple Music. While Apple’s Beats One has demonstrated some exquisite taste in radio shows thanks to Zane Lowe, the channel that started it all isn’t about to lie down.

BBC Radio 1 has always been the home for dance music, from the Essential Mix to its popular Residency show. Each year, BBC1 signs up a host of artists to do a radio residency which usually consists of a 2 hour takeover where the artist is free to take you on a musical journey. Last year Steve Angello and Oliver Heldens were two of the artists that graced the BBC1 Residency decks. This year, BBC pulled in a heavy hitter and got deadmau5 to come across the pond and offer his sounds to the Residency. Beyond deadmau5, you’ll hear Metrik, Eats Everything, Kolsch, Will Atkinson, and more. Needless to say, we can’t wait for 2017 to begin so we can experience these radio shows. You can see the full slate of artists below.
