BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix of the Year Nominees Are Here

Essential Mix of the Year

BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix is home to some of the most renowned mixes from the industry’s top contenders. Artists from all genres of electronic music showcase their talent on Pete Tong‘s show, but only a small handful are superb enough to earn the title of Essential Mix of the Year. Last year, techno master Ben Klock received the prestigious award, showing why techno has and always will be a mainstay in today’s flood of EDM subgenres. It’s about that time again – this year’s nominees have arrived.

Not surprisingly, the five mixers nominated this year are some of the hottest names in the house and techno music scenes right now. Providing some of the smoothest mixes of the year, these artists can easily prove exactly why they are in the running for Essential Mix of the Year. Âme X Dixon, Leon Vynehall, Recondite, Midland and Dusky have all been nominated in recognition of the vast amount of talent they possess. Every single artist on this list has had an incredible year, and proves themselves worthy of their success with these wonderful mixes.
