Martin Garrix Wins Big at 2016 MTV EMAs

This has been one heck of a year for Martin Garrix. The 20-year-old DJ is young, yet successful, having noteworthy titles and awards commemorating his talent. Not only was he was named the #1 DJ in the world in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll this year, he just won two major awards at the MTV European Music Awards.

Martin Garrix was the winner of Best World Stage Performance up against Duran Duran, Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne, OneRepublic, Tinie Tempah, Wiz Khalifa, and solo festival nominee Tomorrowland. He also took home EMA honors for Best Electronic Act against some major competition. Garrix beat out fellow nominees Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Major Lazer, and David Guetta for the EMA, making this a huge step forward for the young producer.

Needless to say, this was Martin Garrix’s year and foreshadows his future success.
