TMZ has reported that Kanye West‘s physician placed the rapper on an involuntary psychiatric hold after the cancellation of West’s remaining Saint Pablo tour last week. West has been hospitalized for over one week now after being diagnosed with “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration”.

Although West was scheduled to leave the hospital earlier this week, sources told TMZ that West’s condition is still questionable. The rapper is still struggling with psychosis and being held indefinitely until recovery under the Baker Act. He is currently at the UCLA Medical Center, where he has been reported to have been struggling with “severe sleep deprivation.”

In the most recent updates, the rapper has also been aiming to still work and record music during this time, as he has requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in bed. An unnamed source, according to NME, said:

“Kanye keeps wanting to work. At the hospital, he requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in his bed. And he has kept asking to see sketches of his fashion lines. He continues to want to work and Kim has to keep telling him to rest.”
