One of the growing trends in the music world is orchestral composers picking out popular songs off the radio or charts and creating full orchestra versions of them. This has spread to the dance music community and a few songs have been given this treatment. In June, conductor Hans Ek redid 17 electronic music tracks into an album called “Dance Music Symphony”.

That album was big, but recently, Helsinki’s Philharmonic Orchestra presented us with their version of another big recent track. Eric Prydz‘s “Opus” was performed by a full orchestra and the final product is just as amazing as it sounds. “Opus” is the classic example of huge build up progressive house and this reconstruction of it gives us so much.
