Petition to Save London’s Nightlife and fabric Created

A lot of buzz is surrounding the topic of fabric in London as of late. With the incidents that have occurred over the last several months, there has been an overwhelming amount of industry professionals taking to the internet to plead with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to not have the club be shut down due to the impact it has had on both the local community and music community.

change.org petition has been created by Jacob Husley, a resident DJ and promoter for the last eight years, to help with this pressing matter because come September 6th, their licence is reviewed by Islington Borough Council. With more and more clubbing establishments going under for various reasons, it’s important to preserve such an important legacy that the European club scene has built over the years; creating a level of unity and comradery amongst the entire general population.

The reason why I’ve brought up this story is because it shows something about us, the clubbing community, about the culture behind it and how fabric operates – that no matter how old you are, rich or poor, colour or gender, you are welcome in the club and you will be looked after. It’s like a big family. This is the ethos that’s at the core of club culture and fabric’s operations.

As of right now, the petition has 52,754 signatures with a goal of 75,000 for it to reach the next level of involvement. It has already been shared buy industry heavyweights such as Eats Everything, Ben Klock, Claude VonStroke, Seth Troxler and many more. Looks like the support continues to pour in as Joris Voorn is the latest to use to attempt to use his influence to sway the vote happening in a little over 10 days. London. Good luck.
