GRiZ (feat. Tash Neal of the London Souls) – Can’t Hold Me Down

GRIZ
Grant Kwiecinski, affectionately known as GRiZ, is gearing up for his forthcoming album release next month entitled Good Will Prevail. Two weeks ago he shared the first single off the album called “Before I Go” featuring familiar vocalist Leo Napier. Now, we’ve got another taste of what’s to come from the album with his monstrous 1980s rock inspired tune “Can’t Hold Me Down” featuring Tash Neal of the London Souls.

Featuring heavy guitar shredding and speedy snare drums, “Can’t Hold Me Down” is like hopping in a time machine to the days when rock ruled the musical landscape. While GRiZ is an electronic music producer in addition to the incredibly funky saxophone he lays down on his tracks, this is no ordinary electronic music song. The live instrumentation absolutely rules supreme in this song, until he drops the hammer on us with a blast of funky energy that is nearly impossible not to rock out to. Here’s what GRiZ had to say about making the single:

Politics, the news, senseless deaths… got me feelin’ pretty helpless recently. I wrote ‘Can’t Hold Me Down’ as a piece of motivation for those who are feelin’ down and struggling in their lives. I saw a live performance video of Tash playing and knew instantly we had to work together. I wrote the demo and sent it his way. What I got back was magic. – GRiZ

“Can’t Hold Me Down” will appear on GRiZ’s forthcoming album Good Will Prevail releasing on his own label All Good Records on September 23rd. You can listen to this instant classic below.
