Glastonbury Festival Site Destroyed Yet Again

With this year’s edition of Glastonbury Festival coming to a close, it is time to reflect on the highlights and not-so-highlights of the events that took place at Worthy Farm. Indeed, the music was truly a treat to attendees this year as Adele, CHVRCHES, Bastille, Years & Years and many more wonderful artists took to multiple stages and crushed them. But as history repeats itself, we must make note of the resemblance between last year and this year—the festival site has been turned into a formidable dump of chairs, tents and trash yet again.

From June 22 to 26, enthusiastic festival attendees danced, sang, camped and partied with each other for another unforgettable weekend at Worthy Farm. A festival the size of Glastonbury, 135,000 attendees to be exact, surely comes with vast amounts of trash and waste but who knew it could be so bad? In its 46 year history, the 2016 festival chimes in as the muddiest, dirtiest year they have ever seen. Over 1,800 individuals have been enlisted to pick up after the festival, filling up an estimated half a million bags. Check out some of the pictures below to get a glimpse inside this monstrous festival site.
