Once in a while, an artist will nonchalantly surface, bearing with them, a distinct and intoxicating sound. While my opinion may be entirely biased, I’d like to think that NGHTMRE is one of those artists.
Tyler Marenyi, aka NGHTMRE, left a blazing trail of material since first jumping into the depths of the trap realm. The “beats and bad dreams” producer has already had an exhilarating year, as he’s recently embarked on phase two of his Lighters Up tour with Flosstradamus and Troyboi, earning a spot at Electric Forest, both in addition to releasing new material, such as most recently, “Burn Out“. Despite an already hefty schedule, NGHTMRE managed to still find time to compose an obliterating mix for TripleJ‘s Mix Up series.
NGHTMRE confirmed his well-earned spot in the electronic dance music world with his Diplo & Friends mix and now, has provided TripleJ with an all-things-bass-infused Mix Up mix. Accompanied by personal originals, remixes and ID’s, NGHTMRE without question outdid his Diplo & Friends mix. The only question left is, how many of those ID’s are tracks off his impending EP? Only time will determine, but if his EP is anything like this mix, fans and listeners are certainly in for a treat.
