By now, you’ve probably heard about Marco Rubio‘s love for electronic music. The Republican candidate, who was born in the dance music-loving city of Miami, has repeatedly discussed his interest in artists such as Calvin Harris, Avicii, Tiesto and Swedish House Mafia.

As much as we appreciate the United States Senator’s fascination with the genre, there is still one burning question: Has Marco Rubio ever been to a rave? Anderson Cooper has always been one to ask the toughest of questions, so it’s only fitting that he was the one to catch Rubio off guard with this gem. After a few seconds of audience laughter, the presidential hopeful responded by stating, “No, I’ve never been to a rave. It’s a Republican primary, Anderson! No, I listen to it. I think I’m a little too old to be going to a rave, to be honest with you.” Rubio then reiterated his appreciation for dance music:

“I actually grew up listening to ’90s hip-hop music, especially the West Coast stuff, and I really liked it. But in the last few years whats happened with EDM, you’ve got these electronic disc jockeys, or these DJs that are taking electronic music and overlaying it with tracks from country music and all sorts of things. So the lyrics are clean, the beats and music are fun. I’ve gotten into it. It’s a lot of fun.”
