We were first introduced to DJ Arch Jnr roughly 12 months ago after seeing some videos of him on YouTube. One year later, Oracle Hlongwane is now $35,000 richer and preparing to play one of the biggest shows of his life. The 3-year-old DJ took the Internet by storm after winning South Africa’s Got Talent, but since then, we haven’t heard much about him. Clearly, the competition show has opened some significant doors for him, as DJ Arch Jnr will be sharing the stage with a handful of legendary house acts later this month.
On February 27th, some of the biggest names in house music will flock to South Africa for ‘Back To The Old School’. The event will feature performances by Black Coffee, Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez‚ David Morales and more. DJ Arch Jnr is definitely the youngest out of the bunch and it will be interesting to see how the crowd responds to him at an actual dance music showcase.
To prepare for ‘Back To The Old School’, Arch dropped a house mix for Valentine’s Day. It seems like the young gun is trying to prove to us that he plans on sticking around for quite some time. Even though he is nowhere close to being on the same level as his fellow countryman Black Coffee, it will be interesting to watch DJ Arch Jnr grow over the years. We can only imagine where he will be when he reaches the ripe old age of 6…
