Bakermat Delivers Collaborative ‘Games EP’ as Debut 2016 Release

Bakermat (feat. Marie Plassard) – Games

It’s been an awful while since we last heard from Bakermat. His last release, a jazz-infused deep rendition of Hurts’ single “Lights,” hit the airwaves back September 2015, and his last original work, “Teach Me,” has essentially had an entire year to marinate in heads with its sweet sweet soul, high spirits, and soaring classical elements. The year away hasn’t been wasted though, he’s been out and about trotting the globe, playing everything from UMF, Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, Mysteryland and more; now he’s back with a beautiful collaborative effort, coming in the form of this: the Games EP.

The talented Dutchman takes us on a refreshing ride in “Games,” a sensationally smooth groover built around multivariate guitars, soothing vocals from Parisian vocalist Marie Plassard, and a subtly rolling bassline. “Games Continued” expectedly builds upon the foundations laid out in “Games,” this time with the help of South African multi-instrumentalist duo, Goldfish; expect a jazzier experience with this performance-ready expansion on the original. Whatever style tickles your fancy, be it for laid back relaxation or uptempo dance-inducing hysteria, Bakermat brought his A-game out for this EP, and it’s one we highly recommend you pick up.
