This Is How Artists Are Reacting To The DJ Mag Top 100 Results

DJMag Awards

Last friday during ADE, the DJ Mag Top 100 was revealed throughout the day. Many DJs made their debut in the poll from the likes of Tchami, Kygo and KSHMR (who is the highest new entry of the year). Other highlights in the Top 100 included techno legend Carl Cox at #63, progressive house icon Eric Prydz coming in at #57 and the outspoken deadmau5 at #25, even after vehemently showing his disinterest in the poll. He’s not the only unhappy artist though, as many people are voicing their concerns.

After coming in at #84, Kaskade took to Twitter to talk about his personal experiences with DJ Mag. The tension goes back to comments he made about the poll three years ago as well as his refusal to answer the questions in the artist bio. DJ Mag responded to this by calling him a “potty-mouth” and a “douche” in his artist bio (which you guys should definitely read).

This is how the dance music legend responded:

It doesn’t stop there though, as 3LAU, Hardwell, Axwell and more decided to take jabs at the DJ Mag Top 100 and the eventual winners in Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. The guys have been accused of having their street team harass people with iPads in order to get people to vote for them. Take a look at the many responses below.

So did deadmau5 and Kaskade have a point? As long as people love the music that they’re listening to, that’s all that matters. DJs don’t need to be crowned anything to know who is the best. The only thing that matters is the music itself.
