Carnage Hosts Awkward Razer Music Tutorial

null

Razer Music was launched last week and it came with an impressive list of brand ambassadors. deadmau5, Dyro, Feed Me and Carnage top the list and they will be in charge of a series of video tutorials based on their workflow and pro-tips. Razer kicked off the series with Carnage’ 808s tutorial where “Papi Gordo” was expected to give a clear description of how he gets an 808 sample to a professional level. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that well and he left us with more questions than answers.

The first things you can notice are that he’s using a cracked version of Lennar Digital’s Sylenth1 and that he seems to be having trouble explaining his creative process. When he gets to the EQing and mixing techniques, his pro-tips seem a little suspect and pretty hard to believe. The comments section was not too kind to say the least and many suggested that Carnage might receive some help when producing his tracks. On the bright side, Dyro hosted for two great tutorials on pitching drums to keys and white noise tricks. Feed Me’ also has a useful tutorial on sound designing on Serum.
