Keys N Krates – I Know U
Toronto-based trio, Keys N Krates, use simplicity to make powerfully charged music. Featuring only drums, keys, a turntable, and live sampling, their instrument-heavy style and trap influences put distinguishing touches on their sound. More is better, as their latest Dim Mak single release “I Know U” continues this winning formula. The track kicks off with the gradual build of reverberating harmonies, and gives way to a well-orchestrated blend of instruments and samples. Choppy and distorted vocals lead the charge and are played over a signature trap snare-drum combination with the steady infusion of showering synths. As the track weaves in and out of drops, Keys N Krates maintain their simple approach and utilize only three main sounds.
