It’s safe to say that Justin Jay is not a typical 22-year-old. As a freshman at USC, Justin sent over a demo to Claude VonStroke, who promptly picked up the track and released it on dirtybird, making the LA-native the youngest artist on the SF-based record label’s impressive roster. This year, Jay’s story came in a full circle, as he celebrated his college graduation with his latest release on dirtybird, his Mom, I Graduated! EP, and now, the youngest dirtybird is in the midst of a massive world tour by the same name.

Last week, the house phenom stopped by the BBC Radio 1 studio for a special After Hours mix with Pete Tong ahead of his performance at the Dirtybird Campout this weekend. On the mix, Jay shows off his tastemaking ability, as he weaves together a 40 minute mix of house, disco, soul, and funk featuring tracks by Catz N Dogz, Dante, and Jay himself, including a few unreleased edits by the dirtybird’s newly formed side project, Justin Jay & Friends.
