Tiësto’s Classic ‘Adagio For Strings’ Shines At Sensation Amsterdam with Orchestral Arrangement

Sensation Amsterdam

Over the past weekend, Sensation Amsterdam pulled out all the stops in their 15th anniversary celebratory event called, ‘The Legacy’. Hosting a crowd of over 40,000 dressed in all white, the Amsterdam Arena showcased top DJs by the likes Oliver Heldens, Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand and Sander Van Doorn. Yet, none of these acts could top Mr. White’s 15-minute Megamix of classic dance tracks, which creatively resurrected one of the defining songs of our time.

Tiësto’s 2005 trance classic, “Adagio For Strings,” made a return to the big stage in dramatic fashion. In the video below, a 500-person-strong choir belt out an a cappella of the song’s chilling harmony, while violinists strapped to red glowing crosses slowly rise in mid-air. As the track reaches its pinnacle and drops into a sound of euphoria, an eruption of strobes and C02 cannons lights up the dance floor, as this classic track, which was originally composed by Samuel Barber before being modernized by William Orbit in 1995, receives an emotionally packed and unique adaptation.

Sensation will now make its way to Tokyo on October 10 for Wicked Wonderland, and then to Dubai on October 30 for Ocean of White. For ticket information head to the official website.
