Skrillex & Diplo Go Certified Platinum on Justin Bieber Collab, “Where Are Ü Now”

Forget Kim Kardashian. Skrillex, Diplo, and Justin Bieber really broke the internet (at least the blogosphere) with the release of the second single off the Jack Ü album, “Where Are Ü Now.” Since its release in February 2015, the track has amassed what seems like hundreds of remixes, bootlegs, and covers. It climbed the charts around the world, dominated radio air waves, and perhaps most importantly, has helped bring dance music into the ears of the masses with a successful relaunch of Bieber’s career – at least the beginnings of it. The track went gold a number of weeks ago, and was Diplo and Skrillex’s first time in the Billboard Hot 100 top 10. Now it’s hit another monumental milestone, as the digital single has officially shifted over 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. (a shift is equal to one sold copy, or 100 stream plays). It should be noted the RIAA only credits Diplo and Skrillex for the track, as Justin Bieber is only a featured artist; that said, its success is undeniably due in large part to Bieber. Congrats gents, and here’s to more hits to come.
