[WATCH] Carmada Puts Interesting Twist to Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” with Live Cover

Carmada

No stranger to electronic dance music, Australia boasts some of the top artists in the industry, including the likes of Flume, Dirty South and Tommy Trash. Enter Carmada, a burgeoning duo from the land down under, poised to make some noise of their own. Comprised of producers LDRU and Yahtzel, the twosome were signed to Skrillex’s revered OWSLA label after their first song ‘Maybe‘ quickly impressed the masses. Enlisted to produce a new EP, Carmada’s ‘Realise EP‘ hit the airwaves in December 2014 and quickly topped the Australian iTunes charts. Since their momentous first EP, the duo has received significant airplay thanks to Australian Triple J Radio and collaborated with electronic music magnates Diplo and Skrillex to perform a 3-hour mix back-to-back set.

Recently, Carmada showcased a different musical talent. In a segment called “Like a Version”, Triple J Radio invites artists in to perform live covers and their own music live on the radio. With already endless remixes of Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s hit ‘Lean On’, Carmada chose to put a unique spin on it by performing a live cover of the song. Maintaining its chill melodic vibes, vocalist Rob Taylor belts out an electric yet soulful performance coupled with instrumentals that scream tropical house. This one is in a league of its own when it comes to reworking ‘Lean On’.
