The RiRi remixes just keep on coming. Jonas Aden & DJ Sub Zero, Gent & Jawns, LUCA LUSH X BRASSTRACKS, Krs. among others have taken turns twisting the Rihanna trap single. And Flosstradamus doesn’t mind adding their version to the heap. Fresh off their Soundclash EP, Floss goes minimalistic, stripping ‘Bitch Better Have My Money‘ from its hip-hop texture in the verses, but grabbing a little from their defining single ‘Pussy Riot‘ in the drops. Rihanna’s aggressive vocals are accentuated and the velocity of the Riot-influenced synths are sped up.
Floss’ remix of ‘BBHMM‘ won’t hurt Rihanna, instead, redefine her worth in the game. The remixes are grabbing more attention than the original. Her mixed response is quickly becoming immaterial thanks to the flood of consistent remixes by various trap DJs. Roc Nation is using the track as an experiment to bridge the last of the gap between hip-hop and electronic music. And it’s working.
