Eric Prydz – Generate (Kölsch Remix)
Feeling at home with Kompakt Records, Kölsch has grown into a recognizable name releasing intelligently crafted traditional progressive house tunes gaining him a steady stream of followers. With a similar style to that of the one and only Eric Pryds, he builds each of his tracks atmospherically focusing on the percussion and the fluidity of the chord progression rather than super high energy electro elements. Also with a highly coveted BBC Radio 1 mix under his belt, it is apparent he has the professionalism to be recognized as a high class taste maker in the scene today.
This first official remix of ‘Generate’ begins with a looped saw synth with a gracious amount of gradually thickening reverb, a set of dark chords then takes shape below building tension. A steady kick drum leads the track to the first breakdown containing some nicely vocoded vocals further adding to the dark feeling yet the track begins to morph into an uplifting type of progression towards the end. This track constantly builds from beginning to end creating a beautiful tone and complexity with all of the elements taken into consideration.
