Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” Is Shazam’s Most-Searched Song Of All Time

The last years have been generous to Tim Bergling in every measurement so far imaginable, but this week saw another metric favor his famous name. This week, Avicii saw his track “Wake Me Up” be named the #1 most Shazamed song with over 20 million inquiries.

Although the number pales to the more than 600 million hits the song has had on YouTube, it represents the continued publicity that a new metric has given him — and the song’s uncredited vocalist, Aloe Blacc. As Shazam establishes its new boards, ranked by the number of searches per song, it comes as no surprise that Avicii’s 2013 hit would make an appearance on the top of the list. The top song of the ‘Hall of Fame’, Avicii’s Wake Me Up serves as a reminder of the longevity of a hit’s popularity in the global music scene. Relive the track’s nostalgia down below.
