Zanski Unleashes The Funk In New ‘Saturnine’ EP

Zanski

Zanski – Saturnine EP

Whether you like it or not, electro funk is a sub genre that is exploding at the moment and one of the leaders of the movement is Tom Probizanski, better known as Zanski, of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Even though this may be the first time you’re hearing his name (or the name of his city for that matter), we promise you that it won’t be the last.

The 21-year-old producer already has a lengthy list of achievements, which includes having a song released through mau5trap as well as hitting 200,000 plays on SoundCloud thanks to his remix of The 1975’s “Chocolate”. As impressive as those milestones are, it’s his latest EP that has caught our attention. Saturnine features four standout tracks and with each one possesing its own individual style, there’s a tune for everyone. Whether you’re looking for something on the mellow end of the spectrum (“Saturnine”) or in the mood for some upbeat complextro-inspired funk (“Jersey Kids”), Zanski has you covered.

Just in case you aren’t already sold, it’s also worth nothing that the Canadian uses “real instruments and sampled vinyl” in his productions. With the amount of time and effort Zanski puts into his music, it’s no wonder why he’s drawing early comparisons to artists like Daft Punk and Madeon. You can listen to 2 of the EP’s 4 songs below and be sure to head over to Bandcamp and grab your copy of Saturnine today!
