Skrillex And Diplo’s ‘Jack Ü’ Album Tops The Dance Music Charts

Skrillex

Skrillex and Diplo have never been artists who like to play by the rules, so when they decided to release their highly anticipated Jack Ü album during their surprise 24-hour set, we weren’t too shocked. As unconventional as their strategy may have been, it clearly paid off, as the duo’s debut LP went straight to the top of Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

According to Nielsen Music, Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack Ü sold 14,000 copies during its first week of availability. This marks the third time that Skrillex has sat atop the chart, as the collaborative full-length joins his Bangarang EP and Recess. Diplo’s two previous releases peaked at #2, so this accomplishment is definitely one that he won’t be taking for granted.

It’s also worth noting that 4 of the album’s 10 songs found their way onto the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. “To Ü”, “Where Are Ü Now” and “Febreze” joined “Take Ü There”, which helped Skrillex make Billboard history. The superstar producer is now the act with the most appearances on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart thanks to his 18 entries since its inception.
